EVENT PLANNING
Comm Mixer 2019

Hosted by the Department of Communication, the annual Comm Mixer is a combination of a career fair and workshop for current MSCM and RHET students. The goal is to inspire students at all levels by showing them the kinds of opportunities that are available to them in college and in the job market. I had the opportunity to plan the Comm Mixer for 2019 which was the most successful to date with over 200 attendees.
I selected five communication professionals that specialize in different fields of communication to guarantee a broad skillset of ideas and advice for undergraduate students. The panelists are all Georgia College alumni, so they were able to explain which GC opportunities provided the most value to their careers. There were two panels for the event: Portfolio Readiness and Jobs & Internships. I wrote the topics and content for both panels and independently facilitated and moderated the second panel.
For publicity I designed graphics for each panelist, a poster, and Facebook event cover. I then created a social media plan for our department's Facebook page and a Facebook Event to promote the mixer.

Homecoming 2018

Every spring semester my sorority, Alpha Omicron Pi, plans a campaign for two Homecoming candidates. In 2018 I ran the campaign with a co-chair. We planned the theme, colors, fonts, shoots, social media distribution and video. We also handled promotional materials including t-shirts, posters, flyers, yard signs and buttons. A fundraiser for our international philanthropy, the Arthritis Foundation, took place during the campaign as well. Below is a $3,000 and a $700 budget which we created and managed.
